A strong CV on its own rarely gets a reply. A specific idea about something in our work that you think is unfinished, wrong, or worth pushing further usually does.
Three to four years, based at the Centre for Industrial Software in Sønderborg. Danish PhD positions are salaried employment, not scholarships. Candidates need a completed master's degree; the formal requirements and any open call are published through SDU. Write to us before you apply, not after.
We supervise SDU students on projects in any of the four research lines. A good project here produces something checkable: a method measured against what the instrument reports when there is nothing to find, a benchmark that exposes a real failure, or a system a partner can run.
We host short and medium research visits, including through Danish and EU mobility schemes. Tell us what you would work on and how long you would stay.
The Centre for Industrial Software exists to do research with companies. If you have a deployed model you cannot fully account for, an evaluation you do not trust, or a document base a language model keeps getting wrong, that is a project.
One page is enough. Say what you have built or measured, name the paper or the research line you are responding to, and state what you would do in the first six months. Attach a CV and, if you have one, a link to code or a thesis.
You do not need to have published. You do need to be able to say what would make you change your mind about your own result.
